Sam Sybunroeung
In addition to being a coach, Sam is the owner and director of New Wave Volleyball Club. He takes pride in coaching younger athletes, particularly incoming 12 and under players new to the club experience. He believes developing these players with correct techniques will allow them continued volleyball success. His role as director is to ensure that the New Wave coaching staff is giving every player equal opportunity to grow, improve and be successful. He believes the most important lessons are teaching life skills, never quitting or hanging your head, the value of hard work and a winning attitude. |
Dannee Chiem
Dannee began playing volleyball at a very young age which helped me prepare to play for Long Beach Poly's high school team. He has coached both boys and girls club volleyball teams at various clubs including Chico Volleyball, Nova Volleyball, Riptide Volleyball Club and New Wave. A few season ago he coached the New Wave 13 Platinum team to the Junior Nationals - A huge success for such young athletes. He is entering his 13th season coaching with New Wave and will be head coach of the 16 Platinum and 17 Platinum teams. |
Luc Sybunroeung
Luc started playing volleyball in park leagues at the young age of 4 years old. He started his club playing career with New Wave at the age of 10. He was a 4 year high school Varsity player at Long Beach Poly. They won the Moore League championship his senior year and he was appointed to the All Moore League First Team. He also won three Coaches Award and a Defensive Award. During summer breaks he was able to win a Bronze medal in the LA Watts games and 8 Gold medals from the Nikkei Games. He played a significant role as a serving specialist in college as they were able to win a conference title and a state championship in 2012. Luc is entering his 11th year coaching at New Wave and currently coach's the 14 Platinum team for New Wave. |
